C. Geraldine Collett

      C. Geraldine "Gerry" Collett, 87, of McPherson, Kan., died Saturday, Sept. 8, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, Ill.

      Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Free Methodist Church in McPherson, with the Rev. Tom Griffeth officiating. Burial will take place at Cashion Cemetary, in Cashion, Okla., at 4 p.m.

      Friends may call between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.

      Memorials have been established to McPherson Free Methodist Church or Oakdale Christian High School in Jackson, Ky.

      Clara Geraldine Collett was born Nov. 19, 1919 in Marshall, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jessie DeBoard and Sadie Johanna Weber. She graduated from high school at Covington, Okla. in 1938, and married George W. Collett Jr. that same year.

      A homemaker, she also worked at Farmer's Alliance, Central Christian College in McPherson and Oakdale Christian High School in Jackson, Ky. She retired in 1986.

      She is survived by three sons: E. Dwain Collett of Mt. Pleasant, Gerald Collett of Chrisman, Ill., and John D. Collett of Goodland, Kan.; daughter Coleta J. Steers of McPherson, Kan.; brother Robert DeBoard of Allen, Texas; two sisters, Virginia Braley of Casper, Wyo., JoAnn Touchstone of Enid, Okla; and nine grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, two daughters and one granddaughter.
