Caren Jane Sinn
Caren Jane Sinn
Williamsburg
Caren Jane Sinn was born February 7, 1951, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of James and Ethel (Johnston) Flanagan. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1969. Caren was united in marriage to Raymond R. Sinn Jr. on January 3, 1970, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg. Throughout the years, Caren was a friendly face to the countless customers she served while working at Jack and Mac’s, Peterson Drug, and Ace Hardware. Outside of work, she enjoyed attending the 5:15 club, reading, gardening, watching the news and crocheting. Her passion in life was her family. She loved being a wife, a mom, and a grandma—going as far as telling everyone that her grandchildren were “perfect, just perfect”. Caren died on Friday, February 28, 2025, at her home at the age of 74 years.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Raymond; four children, Jeff (Deanne) Sinn, Jennifer (Joe) Soukup, Jessica (Callum) Trimpe and Jamie Sinn all of Williamsburg; nine grandchildren, Nile Sinn, Cutler (Emily Bartels) Albright, Robert (Kaley Grimm) Soukup, Benjamin Soukup, Zoey Soukup, Zach Soukup, Ethan Trimpe, Will Trimpe, and Adam Trimpe; a great-grandson, Harlan Albright; a sister, Susan Curry of Williamsburg and a brother David Flanagan of Riverside, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ione Flanagan and brother-in-law Bob Curry.
Celebration of life service will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Visitation: Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for R.E.A. Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
