CARL ROBERTS
Ainsworth
Carl Roberts, 89, a longtime Ainsworth area farmer, died Wednesday, August 5, 2020, in Port Charlotte, Florida.
A graveside service will be held at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth at a later date. The Jones & Eden Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent for Carl's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.
Carl was born to William and Leona Roberts. He graduated from Ainsworth High School and was a member of the Ainsworth United Methodist Church. In 1950, Carl married Patricia Elliott. They were divorced after 53 years of marriage. He and Patricia raised their six children on a farm near Ainsworth with a large extended family living nearby. Carl was an enthusiastic participant of both local and county fair tractor pulling contests. He enjoyed traveling with Patricia and their children, and golfing with his friends.
Carl's entire career was spent farming, first with his father Bill, his uncle Everette, his brother Dale, and later with his sons. Carl was always ready to try better ways of livestock and crop production. He remained curious and well-informed about the latest farming technology throughout his life. Today, Carl's family still farms the land he loved.
In 2003, Carl married Barbara Lindner Bizub. He and Barbara shared their home in Punta Gorda, Florida with their beloved pets. They enjoyed playing golf, attending musical performances, playing cards and eating out with friends.
Carl is survived by his wife, Barbra; children, Mike (Mary Jo), Steve (Karen), daughter-in-law, Rocky, Jane (Carl), David (Kathy) and Amy (Mark); his children's mother, Patricia; brother, Dale (Maurine); grandchildren: Dan (Tamra), Lisa (Jonathan), Jason, Justin (Jenna), Erin (Zach), Zach (Callyn), Rosalind (Michael), Jordan, and Jenna; great-grandchildren, Logan, Grant, Jonathan, Eleanor, Benjamin, Holden and Leyland; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, James.
