Carla Kay Lowe, age 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the family present to receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Spirit of Faith Family Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a visitation taking place at the church one hour prior to the service, where the family will be present to greet friends.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at the Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery in rural Wayland, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Spirit of Faith Family Church. Online condolences may be sent for Carla’s family at www.jonesfh.com.
Carla was born on January 6, 1950, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Neal and Martha (Wenger) Roth. She attended WACO High School and graduated from Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On October 28, 1967, Carla was united in marriage to Donald C. Lowe in Wayland, Iowa.
Carla was a minister, and supported and served alongside her husband, Don, in the church. Throughout the years, Carla and Don’s involvement in the church moved them to various locations, including Oklahoma, Kansas, and eventually back to Iowa, where the two have spent the last decade residing in Cedar Rapids. Carla was a member of the Spirit of Faith Family Church in Cedar Rapids. Her faith and love for her family were central to her life.
She is survived by her husband, Don Lowe of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her three sons: Todd (Kristy) Lowe of Olathe, Kansas; Ryan (Mara) Lowe of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and Jeremy (Pam) Lowe of Napoleon, Missouri; two grandchildren, Evelyn and Reghan; sister, Bonnie Yoder of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother, Ron (Char) Roth of LeGrange, Indiana; brother, Mark (Donna) Roth of Wayland, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Marge Roth of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tom Roth; and brother-in-law, Al Yoder.
