Carla Marie Brunk, 65, of Washington, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at the Halcyon House. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 1. Burial will be at the West Chester Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the West Chester Heritage.

Carla Brunk was born Jan. 16, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Mary (Miller) Yoder. She graduated from Mid Prairie High School in 1973. Carla was united into marriage to Phillip Brunk on July 20, 1974, at the Washington Methodist church. Carla loved to cause a ruckus with the other residents at Halcyon House. She enjoyed traveling in the semi with her husband Phil, singing, cross stitching, antiquing, and her favorite drink Diet Coke.

Carla is survived by her children, Ryan (Melissa) Brunk of Wellman and Betsy (Tim) Timmins of Washington, Iowa; siblings, Richard (Lorna) Yoder of Boulder, Colo., Ron (Deb) Yoder of Casper, W.Y., and Carmen (Chris) Woods of Washington, Iowa; grandchildren, Morgan Brunk, Ella Brunk, Emma Timmins and Tinley Timmins; and many nieces and nephews.
