NOWATA, Okla. ? Carlene Dotson Hindman Porter Jones, 58, of Nowata, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, in Nowata.

Mrs. Jones was born May 17, 1958, in Nowata, Oklahoma, the daughter of Carl Dotson and Linda (Grovenburg) Dotson.

She married Donald Porter, and they had a son, Patrick. The couple later divorced.

She moved to Iowa and married Richard Jones. The couple lived in Washington for a number of years before divorcing. She moved back to Nowata, Oklahoma, in 2015.

After the divorce of her parents, she was adopted by Jack Hindman and Linda (Dotson) Hindman. She grew up in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Nowata. She was an active volunteer in the Meals With Love program.

Surviving are her mother, Linda Hindman Elliott of Klamath Falls, Oregon; one stepsister, Crystal Elliott of Klamath Falls, Oregon; one son, Patrick Elliott of Citrus Heights, California; and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jacob and Julia Grovenburg; her father, Carl Dotson; her adoptive father, Jack Hindman; and one brother, Thomas Dotson Hindman.
