Carmelita Elizabeth Sieren

      KEOTA-Carmelita Elizabeth Sieren, 90, of Keota, died Friday, June 10, 2005, at Maplewood Manor in Keota, following complications of a stroke.

      A Mass of the Resurrection was held this morning at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with the Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial was in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.

      Mrs. Sieren was born on Feb. 20, 1915, in Plank Township in Keokuk County, to Joseph and Henrietta (Besser) Clarahan. On Jan. 9, 1935, she married Raymond Sieren in Harper. He preceded her in death in 1936. On Sept. 13, 1938, she married Carl Michael Sieren in Harper.
