Carol Ann Starr, 79, formerly of Richland, died at Great River Medical Center late Monday, October 5, 2020. She was born in Richland, IA, on June 28, 1941, to Paul Jake and Genevieve Marie Kiefer Ott. Carol grew up in Ollie, graduated from Ollie High School in 1960; and married Richard Dale Starr October 14, 1961, in Clear Creek, Iowa. He died November 20, 2018. Carol lived in Richland most of her married life, was a housewife and worked at McCleery-Cummins Calendar Factory in Washington for many years. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, collecting antiques, shopping and spending time with family. Carol was a member of an Antique Clock Club, Mother Cabrini Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Starr (Tracy) of Richland, IA, and Wayne Starr (Leigh) of Sergeant Bluff, IA; one daughter, Melody Kramer (Scott) of North Liberty, IA; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; and her sister, Verneen Reynolds (Larry) of Visalia, CA.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Junior Ott.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday October 10, 2020, at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland with Rev. Robert A. Lathrop officiating. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery near Harper. Visitation will be held immediately preceding the Mass starting at 9:30 A.M. Memorials for St. Jude's Children's Hospital or for the Richland Volunteer First Responders may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 1060 Cory Ct, North Liberty, IA 52317-9168. Due to continuing COVID-19 concerns, Social distancing and masks will be required. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements
