Carol E. Byers

      GOSHEN, Ind. - Carol E. Byers, 55, of Goshen, Ind., formerly of Washington, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Valley View Nursing Home in Elkhart, Ind., following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Goshen City Church of the Brethren in Goshen, Ind., with the Rev. Yvonne Riege and the Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery in Goshen, Ind. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, and 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, Ind. Memorials have been established for Goshen City Church of the Brethren, Walnut Hill Day Care, or United Cancer Service of Elkhart County.

      Mrs. Byers was born Nov. 9, 1949, to Marion and Opal (Burkholder) Reschly in Washington. She married Timothy L. Barker. He preceded her in death. She married Paul Byers on Aug. 12, 1989, in Goshen, Ind.
