CAROL "SLIM" EDWARD BROBSTON

Carol "Slim" Edward Brobston, age 84, of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Behner Funeral Home. A graveside service will be
held at Fell Cemetery in Libertyville, with Pastor J.D. Boatman officiating. Military honors will follow the service.

Slim was born September 7, 1936, in Fairfield, to Theodore Edward and Eathel May (Retherford) Brobston. He married Beverly "Bev" Joyce Calhoun on July 19, 1960. They were married 56 years before she passed away on July 8, 2017. Slim served in the U.S. Navy and after serving our country he worked at Fairfield Equipment Company and then owned his own shop working on farm equipment until 1973 when he started driving a semi. He loved tinkering in his garage. Slim's other interests were watching John Wayne movies, doing jigsaw puzzles, putting together Legos, and reading history books. He was a NASCAR fan and followed Hawkeye football.
Slim will be missed by his children, Paul "Tom" (Kathy) Baker of Keosauqua, IA, Diana (Kevin) Morris of Clinton, IA, and Renee (Jeff) Burtlow of Delta, IA; six grandchildren, Sean (Jacque) Baker, Brad (Amy) Baker, Kaitlin Morris, Ashley Morris, Tyler Burtlow and Emily (Zach) Shields; six great-grandchildren, Kyler Rogers, Brayden Baker, Grant Baker, Jillian Baker, Sawyer Shields and Mavryck Shields; his brother, Hugh Brobston.
Slim was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Eathel; wife, Bev; two sons, David and Darrell Brobston; brother, Robert "Bob" Brobston; and sister, Sylvia Johnson.
