Carolyn Marie (Smith) Crew, age 62, passed away January 6, 2025 after a battle with thyroid cancer.
Carolyn graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1981. In 1982 she graduated from cosmetology school. Carolyn married Kirk Crew in 1983, the couple later divorced.
Carolyn liked working in customer service. She worked for Nordstrom Oil, Handimart for several years in Amana and Little Amana and Fast Stop (currently the Depot) in Williamsburg. Most recently she worked at Brothers Market in Williamsburg.
Carolyn’s hobbies included reading, jigsaw puzzles, word and number puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and counted cross stitch.
Carolyn is survived by her very best friend and dear partner Jeff Rider, her two daughters (who she was very proud of) Theresa Von Ahsen and Nikki Cowman, grandchildren (who she loved very much, going to their activities as much as possible) Baylie Von Ahsen, Harper Von Ahsen, Levi DeBrower, and Savannah DeBrower, her mother Anna Marie Sleeth, brothers Mike (Julie) Smith, Larry (Tammy) Smith, Leo (Sherri) Smith Jr., and sister Deb (Mike) Rogers, along with several nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Leo Smith Sr, stepfather Howard Sleeth, grandparents Lewis and Marie Smith and Chuck and Sylvia Pence.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Carolyn’s name to Essence of Life Hospice in Amana.
