CAROLYN SUE "STRETCH" SEIBERT
Burlington
Carolyn Sue "Stretch" Seibert, 73, of Burlington,
died Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, as the result of a car accident near Canton, Ill.
Born Nov. 13, 1946, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, she was the daughter of Everett and Donna (Miller) Brownell. She was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and attended beauty college. She married Ronald Derby. They later divorced. She then married Thomas Seibert Sr. They later divorced.
Carolyn was a motor route driver for The Hawk Eye for 25 years in addition to driving a bus for the city of Burlington. She was a kind soul and was very generous to those who needed it. She would give the shirt off her back and did not know a stranger. She was fun-loving, outgoing, energetic and had a heart of gold. She was a racing fanatic! She loved all types of cars and was well known as the unofficial greeter at 34 Raceway as part of the "Turn 4 Crew." Racing was everything to her and she would plan visits around her trips to Donnellson Racetrack on Friday nights, 34 Raceway on Saturday nights and Quincy Raceway on Sundays.
Carolyn was goofy and had a "rainbow personality." She loved listening to all types of live music, karaoke and line dancing. Her family was everything to her.
She is survived by her three children, Davina Seibert of Mount Pleasant, Travis Seibert of Madison, Wis., and Tommy (Stacey Kerr) Seibert of Middletown; stepson, Dave Derby; four grandchildren, Alexia, Landon, Ethan and Emery; and special cousin, Linda Pohren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sandra.
A visitation for Carolyn will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends. The family requests everyone to wear their favorite racing gear. A graveside funeral service and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
