Catharine C. Kleese

      Catharine C. Kleese, 94, of Washington, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 3, at United Presbyterian Church in Washington, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer and the Rev. James Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 2, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorials may be directed to United Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Home, or Hospice of Washington County.

      Mrs. Kleese was born on May 16, 1910, in Washington, to Ross L. and Harriet (Paisley) Coulter. On Feb. 28, 1931, she married Ralph J. Kleese in Cedar Rapids.
