Catherine 'Tommy' Alice Kiesey

      Catherine "Tommy" Alice Kiesey, age 92, of Cedar Rapids formerly of Washington died Sunday February 4, 2007 at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids following a decline in health.

      Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, February 17th at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Everette Burham officiating. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church in Washington.       Catherine was born on March 1, 1914 in Washington, Iowa to Charles and Sylvia (Ribbink) Wilson. She graduated from Washington High School in 1932 and later received her Bachelors degree from Parsons College in 1963. On August 1, 1935 Catherine was united in marriage to Stanton G. Kiesey in Washington. Catherine taught school at Sharon Center #4 and Kalona. Later she taught 5th grade at Stewart Elementary in the Washington School District for 15 years before retiring in 1975. Catherine was a member of the United Methodist Church, served on the Board of Directors at the YWCA, and served as secretary of the YWCA for 3 years. Catherine lived in Washington until 1997 until she moved to Cedar Rapids.
