Cecil E. Ortery September 17, 1933 - February 11, 2004

Cecil E. Ortery, 70, of Mt. Pleasant, died at the VA Hospital in Iowa City on Feb. 11, 2004.

      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Ill., with the Rev. Gerald Marlow officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery in Kirkwood, Ill. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15 with family present from 4 to 5 p.m., and on Monday. Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association - Henry County Chapter or to the Henry County Health Center Foundation.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda and her husband Marvin Day of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Edwin E. and his wife Amy Ortery of Rio, Ill; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald A. and his wife Ann Ortery of Kirkwood; Jim and his wife Sheila Ortery of Aurora, Ill., and Richard and his wife Peggy Ortery of Clairmore, Okla.; and a sister, Marcella Johnson of Nashville, Tenn.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Gerald; and a baby sister, Marty.
