Cecil Pumphrey October 19, 1917 - June 12, 2005

Cecil Pumphrey, 87, of Danville, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16 at Danville First Baptist Church, with Pastor John Fetterhoff officiating. Burial with military rites by New London VFW Post 7641 will be in Jaggar Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be after noon today at Elliott Chapel in New London, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to Danville First Baptist Church and Danville Rescue Unit.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda and her husband Herb Grinstead of Danville; two sons, Doug and his wife Bonnie Pumphrey of Hemet, Calif., and Ron and his wife Debbie Pumphrey of New Hampton; five granddaughters, two step-grandsons, and six great-grandchildren; and special friend, Ora Halferty of Fort Madison.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
