Cecilia Elizabeth Smith

      KEOTA - Cecilia Elizabeth Smith, 97, formerly of Harper, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Victoria Gardens of Frisco in Frisco, Texas.

      A Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16, at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper, with the Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 15, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. A general memorial has been established.

      Mrs. Smith was born May 13, 1908, in Columbus Junction, to Frank and Johanna (Furlong) Daniel. She married Alvin J. "Doc" Smith on Dec. 10, 1932, in Rock Island, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1977.
