Charlene Estelle Brooks-Smith, 74, of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at her son's home. Private graveside service will be held at Oakland Mills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,

a memorial has been established. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Julian Bujanowski, 500 E. Hempstead, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Charlene was born to Milton and Vivian (Cook) Brooks on Feb. 25, 1946, in Speculator, N.Y. at home. While in New York, she was a nurse at Hallmark Nursing Home. She later moved to the Fairfield area. Charlene enjoyed going fishing and camping. She collected ceramic angels, would go to the casinos to play slots, play bingo and dancing.

Charlene will be missed by her children, Chester (Sherri) Bujanowski and Julian (Nancy) Bujanowski of Fairfield, Kim Bujanowski of New York, Mark Bujanowski of Pennsylvania, Wendy Sampone (Nick) Amsterdam of New York and Joy Petoff of Georgia; 13 grandchildren, Julian Bujanowski Jr., Starr Bujanowski, Milton Bujanowski, Riley Bujanowski, Butch Egan, Justin Egan, Heather Moore, Gaynell Petoff, Eric Petoff, Kelli Bujanowski, Destiny Bujanowski, Gregory Bujanowski and Nick Sampone ; 16 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Bob Brooks of Alaska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Vivian; sister, Norah Brown; and brothers, Ernie and Timothy Brooks.
