Charles 'Bill' Jeffries

      Charles "Bill" Jeffries, 88, of Washington died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marlene Janssen and the Rev. Robin Houts officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post No. 29. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials have been established for West Chester United Methodist Church or United Presbyterian Home.

      `Mr. Jeffries was born April 29, 1918, in Maryville, Tenn., to Charles and Merle (Pryor) Jeffries. He married Freda Hertig on Jan. 5, 1946.
