Charles Eugene Protzman Jr.

Charles Eugene Protzman Jr., 70, of Maryville, Mo., died Jan. 8, 2005, at Heartland Health Medical Center in St. Joseph, Mo.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Maryville. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Maryville. Visitation with family begins at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the church with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Price Funeral Home in Maryville is in charge of arrangements. The Chuck Protzman Memorial Fund has been established with funds to be donated to heart and cancer research.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Lovett; eight children, Steve of Minnesota, Charles III of California, Chris of Washington, Dawn of Colorado, Kevin of Virginia, Brendan of Idaho and Eric and Marcia, both of Iowa; a stepson, Jimmy Parker of Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Marie Protzman of Maryville; nine grandchildren; and his first wife, Carol Protzman.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald.
