Charles 'Jim' Thomann

      KALONA - Charles "Jim" Thomann, 67, of Riverside, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a sudden illness.

      Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the Grace Fellowship Church in Iowa City with the Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today in the church and will continue Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The remains will be cremated following the service. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Public Cemetery. A general memorial fund has been established. Peterseim Funeral Service in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mr. Thomann was born March 8, 1940, the son of Wilford O. and Anna Teresa (Simon) Thomann. He married Kay Gerot on Feb. 4, 1961, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside.
