Charles Max Buck
Charles Max Buck, 70, of Danville died at 8:58 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2000, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 7, at Lunning Chapel in Burlington with the Rev. Andrew Tufano and the Rev. Dan Buck officiating. Interment will be in the Jaggar Cemetery in Danville. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at Lunning Chapel, where the family will meet friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. that evening. Memorials can be made to the Paw Pet Shelter in Ft. Madison or the Sunshine Acres Children's Home in Mesa, Ariz.
Mr. Buck was born March 26, 1930, in Henry County, the son of Archie M. and Mildred L. Conner Buck. He married Evelyn Stuller on Dec. 3, 1949, in Palmyra, Mo. He was the owner and operator of Buck's Demolition in Danville for 40 years. He was a member of the Danville First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge in Burlington, and the American Legion (West Point Post). He enjoyed his family, friends, work, and his pets.
Survivors include his mother of Kahoka, Mo.; his wife of Danville; five sons, David Buck of Parkton, N.C., Dan Buck of Burlington, and Tom, Kevin, and Scott Buck, all of Danville; one daughter, Phyllis Dockendorff of Danville; one sister, Jean Lucas of West Burlington; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
