Charles Richard 'Dick' Beckley

      KALONA-Charles Richard "Dick" Beckley, 66, of rural Iowa City, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 30, at Kalona United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lynn Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. this evening. Extended visitation will be Friday, from 7 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home, and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., at the church. A general memorial fund has been established.

      Mr. Beckley was born on April 20, 1938, in Harper, to Orval and Marvel (Glantz) Beckley. He married Leah Dell Bush on June 3, 1956, in West Chester.
