Charles Tonkinson

Charles Joseph Tonkinson, 90, of Yarmouth, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 at Elliott Chapel in New London. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Mt. Union. Visitation will begin after noon on Friday, Oct. 1 at the chapel, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Trinity Cemetery Association and to the Yarmouth Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, JoAnne Denney of Yarmouth, and Mary Deborah Gallomare of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Charles J. Tonkinson of Ventura, Calif.; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and a brother, Paul.
