Charles W. Newman
Charles W. Newman, 71, of Van Buren, Ark., formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at his home.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 28 at the Salem Friends Church with the Rev. Tom Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the Salem South Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with family present from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial has been established to Salem Country Bluegrass Music Festival.
