Charles W. Stevens January 29, 1922 - October 7, 2003

      Charles W. Stevens, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at the Henry County Health Center.

      Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kimberly Bowles officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. A Masonic service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m. after which the family will receive friends. Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church (Saturday Evening Church Sound System) and the Iowa Wesleyan College Athletic Training Room.

      Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Nancy Jo Stevens of Mt. Pleasant; one brother Robert and his wife Mary Stevens of Winfield; and one sister, Frances Seyb of Iowa City.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law Harold Seyb.
