Charlotte Stonum

      Charlotte Stonum, 85, of Wayland died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Washington County Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will begin at 1:30, Saturday, Nov. 19, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7, Friday evening. A memorial has been established for the Jolly Sixties at Marion Avenue Baptist Church, in Washington.

      Mrs. Stonum was born Aug. 16, 1920, in Muscatine, to Fred and Clara (Lemkau) Krell. She married Vernon Eugene Stonum on July 7, 1953. He preceded her in death in 1981. She had been previously married to Homer Teitge, who also preceded her in death.
