Cheryl Bonebright
CHERYL BONEBRIGHT
Danville, Ill.
Cheryl Bonebright, 76, of Danville, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, with her husband and sister Carolyn by her side, after a long, courageous fight against cancer. Cheryl married her high school sweetheart, Jim Bonebright, in 1964. He survives.
Cheryl was loved by many, including her husband, Jim, of Danville; two daughters, Sherie (Dan) Hittinger of Fort Wayne, IN, and Tysha (Steve) Osborne of Manhattan, KS; two sons, Lonnie (Melissa) Bonebright of Oakwood, IL, and Kyle Bonebright of Williamsport, IN; seven grandchildren, Austin, Ashley, Khailie, Kyler, Kyson, Madison and Makenzie; five great-grandchildren: Kaleab, Roslynn, Cole, Henry and Annie; her dearest sister, Carolyn Brown of Columbus Junction, IA; four brothers and one sister, all of Cedar Rapids, IA; as well as many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Louise Moothart and Edward Brown.
Cheryl loved sewing, making doll clothes and quilts for everyone in her family and then donating others to veterans, women's shelters and hospitals. She was a member of the Vermilion Valley Quilters and the Danville Cancer Support Group. Cheryl volunteered and participated in several charity walks to raise money for cancer research. She had many jobs over her life but enjoyed working at Danville School District No. 118 DHS Cafeteria the most because of the friends she attracted. Cheryl cherished the trips taken to see her sister in Seattle and especially viewing the city from the Space Needle. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mom, grandma and devoted friend. Cheryl loved her Yorkies and her latest rescue Brinkley.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. CT at the Second Church of Christ 3350 E Voorhees St, Danville, IL 61834. It is kindly requested that those in attendance of the funeral wear a mask and practice social distancing. The service will also be streamed through Facebook, details to come. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
