Pleasant High School in 1972. On May 6, 1973, at the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, Cheryl was united in marriage to Roger “Fuzzy” Borders. Mr. Borders died Wednesday, September 28, 2005, in Mt. Pleasant.
After graduation, Cheryl worked at E.G. Staats Mfg. until 1975. In 1998, she began a new career with the state of Iowa, working at the Mt. Pleasant Correctional Facility. She retired on December 13, 2019.
Cheryl was a keen shopper. She enjoyed many shopping and dining adventures with her family and especially with her mother on Fridays. She enjoyed other travels and camping adventures. She and her family spent a whole day at the Iowa State Fair each year for some 24 years. Above all, Cheryl faithfully attended all of her grandchildren’s activities and was very adept at being their #1 fan.

Pleasant; her siblings, Dennis (Marilyn) Schroeder of Salem, Sheila (Oscar Simonson) Takai of Burlington and Kathy (Joe) Rauenbuehler of Mt.
