Cheryl Lynn Schooley, 53, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at her residence following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Celebration of life services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Monday, March 2, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A general memorial has been established. Cheryl was born April 8, 1966, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Stan and Marti (Renoux) Schooley. She attended school in Washington, Iowa, and graduated from Washington High School in 1984. Cheryl has been with her significant other, Bill Faler, for the past 26 years.

Cheryl was a home health care provider, working for WCDC and Comfort Care. She recently was a bar manager in the Columbus Junction area. She enjoyed the outdoors, where she often was found mowing the yard, taking care of her flowers or gardening. She enjoyed golfing and going to the races in Columbus Junction and taking care of her dogs.

Cheryl is survived by her significant other, Bill Faler of Columbus Junction, Iowa; daughter, Bailey Lynn Schooley of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter, Samantha Faler of Calmar, Iowa; parents, Stan and Marti Schooley of Brighton, Iowa; sister, Carmen Smith of Washington, Iowa; brother, Sean Schooley of Alvin, Texas; and her four-legged companions, Champ, Gunner, Gauge and Bosco.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Loretta Renoux and Laton and Gladys Schooley.
