Christopher "Chris" Wixom, 62, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, in Wayland, Iowa.

Celebration of Life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Calling hours will begin noon Tuesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.

Chris was born June 20, 1957, in Burlington, Iowa. He attended school in Fairfield, Iowa, and has resided in Fairfield, Iowa; Mount Pleasant, Iowa; Tennessee; and in Washington, Iowa, for the past 11 years. Chris was united in marriage to Lori Leasure on Dec. 17, 2011, in Washington, Iowa.

Chris worked at Iowa Renewable Energy for several years retiring in June of 2019. He loved being outside, where he enjoyed doing yardwork and gardening. He enjoyed camping, fishing and detailing cars. Chris was an avid New England Patriots fan.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Wixom of Washington, Iowa; his four legged companion, Gracie; daughter, Lori Wixom, and husband, T.J. Milam of West Chester, Iowa; daughter, Shannon Rios, and husband, Raul of Washington, Iowa; son, Adam Wixom of Wayland, Iowa; two stepdaughters, Cory Leasure of Washington, Iowa, and Melody Kelly, and husband, Brian of Washington, Iowa; two step sons, Scooter, and wife, Kandis of Agency, Iowa, and Shawn Smith of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Groves, and husband, Doug of Ravenna, Ohio; brother, Eric Wixom, and wife, Wendy of Burlington, Iowa; and best friend, James Roberts of Washington, Iowa.

Chris was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Wixom, and his mother-in-law, Mary Tusing.
