Cirila “Lila” Hampton, 78, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Mass with Christian burial will be Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Father Nick Adam officiating. Private Inurnment at Evergreen Cemetery will immediately follow. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Walton Club, 2265 Walton Lake Rd, Fairfield, IA 52556, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or mailed to Larry Hampton, 1000 E Hempstead Avenue, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Lila was born March 30, 1944, in Santiago, Panama to Niconor and Marcelina (Batista) Santamaria. She married Larry L. Hampton on December 14, 1964.

Lila has lived in Fairfield for 58 years. She and Larry owned Hampton Electrolux for 20 years. Lila was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a woman of strong faith. She enjoyed reading, walking, gardening and doing various crafts. Most important was spending time with family and friends.

Lila will be missed by her husband, Larry of Fairfield; her two children, Brian Hampton and Jennifer (Brian) Dennis, both of North Liberty; four grandchildren, Danielle (Luke) Cullen, Sydney Hagge, Wade (Madison) Hampton and Joey Dennis; one great-grandchild, Camila Cullen; and three siblings, Dora, Bernardo and Marten.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Niconor and Marcelina; two brothers, Pastor and Geraldo; and sister, Percy.
