CLAIRE ADELE BECKWITH LIVINGSTON

Athens, Ala.

Claire Adele Beckwith Livingston, 96, of Athens, AL, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020. Mrs. Livingston was born June of 1924 in Hartford, CT, to Rexford Fillmore Beckwith and Bertha Josephine Dowd.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, September 11, 2020, at the Fern Cliff Cemetery near Wayland, Iowa. Beatty Funeral Home is assisting with local arrangements. A facebook live stream will be available on the funeral homes facebook page www.facebook.com/BeattyPeterseim/. Social distancing and masks/face coverings will be enforced.

Mrs. Livingston graduated from Providence Bible Institute in R.I. and from NYU-Bellvue Nursing School where she received her diploma and RN License. In 1954, she joined TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) and was a missionary in South Korea. After returning to the States, she ministered with her husband at Salem Alliance Church in Salem, OR, for several years. In 1983, she spent 4 years in Jerusalem, Israel, running the Christian Missionary Alliance Guest House. Claire and her husband spent over 40 years leading tours to the Holy Land. In 2000, she and her husband went to Omaha, NE, where she assisted him in the ministry to senior adults at Christ Community Church. She loved to read and enjoyed sports. She was an avid walker and volunteered for the Red Cross earning a Lifetime Red Cross Pin.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Lucas Livingston; daughter, Ruth Livingston Guertin (Jon); son, Stephen Joel Livingston; brother, Bruce Beckwith (Louise); grandson, Matthew Lucas Guertin (Jamie); granddaughters, Jessica Brittany Wainio (Steve) and Ashley Faith Guertin; great-grandchildren, Abigail Grace Guertin and Benjamin Alexander Guertin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
