Clara H. Carter January 11, 1917 - October 31, 2003

      Clara Helen Carter, 86, of Fairfield, died at 11:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Graveside and military rites will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Rock Creek Cemetery near Ollie. Visitation will be today from noon until 5 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church or Fairfield Public Library.

      Survivors include her husband; three sons, Greg and his wife Maryanne Carter of Lisbon, Brian and his wife Karen Carter of Mt. Pleasant, Roger and his wife Lynn Carter of North Aurora, Ill.; nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

      She was preceded in death by her parents.
