Clareen Elisabeth (Gallup) Arnold died peacefully on Tuesday, June 9th in St. Louis, MO, following a short illness. Clareen has been cremated and will be buried later in the Fall. More information will follow with specifics. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the cemetery fund at Shiloh).
Clareen died at 89 years young. She was born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Naval Chief Petty Officer, Clarence, and Elisabeth (McGaughey) Gallup. She graduated from high school in Colton, CA and The University of Iowa with a Master Degree in Teaching in the early seventies. Clareen married Harry James Arnold in 1945, but later divorced. Clareen raised four beautiful daughters on her own, while teaching school throughout southeast Iowa. Clareen loved to travel, to do crossword puzzles and board puzzles, and regularly visiting her grandchildren. She was an avid prayer warrior. The last 15 years of her life were spent living in her daughters homes or in a home close to one of them. Clareen was a member of The Living Word Fellowship.
Clareen is survived by 3 of her 4 daughters: Clareen (Ken) Rich of Kalona, IA, Rebecca (Richard) Jones of San Diego, CA, Saundra (Bruce) Boyd of Maryland Heights, MO and son-in-law Michael (Penny) Farrier of Daulphin Island, AL nine grandchildren, Rachelle (Ronald) Blackwell, John (Kim) Rich, Michael A. (fiancé Heidi) Farrier, Matthew (JoAnne) Farrier, Mark (Andrea) Farrier, Shannon Jones, Bethel (Scott) Aster, Daniel Jones, Zachery (Bambi) Baker; twenty-three great grandchildren - Jonathan, Makensie, Taylor, James, Alexander, Madison, Annalise, Justin, Hunter, Jordan, Madeline, Rachel, Rebecca, Sarah, Sophia, Orion, Korbin, Caris, Gideon, Ilana, Joshua, Samantha, and Leo, and two great-great granchildren, Naviah and Zaylee; one sister, Shirley Jo Harrison of Chattanooga, TN, and one brother, Don (Janet) Gallup of Escondido, CA. as well as many nieces and nephews.
Clareen is preceded in death by her father Clarence, Mother Elisabeth, brother James Gallup and one daughter, Catherine Farrier.
