Clareen E. Rich

KALONA ? Clareen ?Claire? Elisabeth Rich, 71, of Kalona died Sunday, April 2, 2017, in Parkview Nursing Home in Wayland.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, at the Shiloh Church in rural Kalona. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mrs. Rich was born in 1945 in San Bernardino, California, the daughter of Clareen (Gallup) Arnold and James Arnold.

She lived in Washington, Iowa, and West Toluca Lake, California, and retired in Kalona in 2008. Her first love was the Lord, her husband, Ken, and children, Rachelle and John. She had great success in life being a nurse and therapist (R.N., N.P., M.F.C.C.). She loved helping all those who came through her life with any situation they experienced. Her family and friends were her delight.

Surviving are her husband, Ken; one daughter, Rachelle Blackwell and husband Ronald; one son, John Rich and wife Kim; seven grandchildren; one granddaughter-in-law; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Rebecca Jones and husband Richard, and Saundra Boyd and husband Bruce; one brother-in-law, Mike Farrier and wife Penny; her mother-in-law, Jeane Fry; her in-laws, Wes and Riella Rich, Emery Gingerich, Bill Sebok, Steve and Jer Rich, and Phil and Jacque Rich; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; one sister, Cathy Farrier; her father-in-law, Walter Rich; two sisters-in-law, Jane Gingerich, and Marti Sebok; one niece; and one nephew.
