Clarence A. 'Huck' Meis

      BRIGHTON - Clarence A. "Huck" Meis, 89, of Keota, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at Maplewood Manor.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in Richland with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Prayers for a Christian Wake will be held at 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Maplewood Manor, Mother Cabrini Church or the American Lung Association.

      Mr. Meis was born on Jan. 25, 1915, in LeMars, to Joseph I. and Katherine G. (Roerig) Meis. On July 2, 1938, he married Ethel C. Casper. She preceded him in death in 2002.
