Clarence Robert Totemeier

Clarence Robert Totemeier, 86, of New London, died at 11:54 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Great River Medical Center of West Burlington.

      Mr. Totemeier has been cremated; a private memorial service will be at a later date. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday, Oct. 12 at Elliott Chapel with the family present from 3 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ferrell Cemetery of New London.

      He was born Nov. 17, 1913, at New London, the son of Carl A. and Clara Lo Eda Totemeier. He married Ruth Margaret Lemon on June 30, 1938, at her parent?s home in New London. A 1931 graduate of New London High School, he farmed and raised stock fish in his ponds. He was a charter member of Chicauqua Rock Hound Society of Mt. Pleasant, custodian of Ferrell Cemetery in New London, and a member of New London Presbyerian Church.

      Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol Baron of Newark, N.J.; two sons, John Totemeier of Clinton, Ind. and William Totemeier of New London; two brothers, C. Otho Totemeier of Farmington and Carl Totemeier of Fayetteville, Ark.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
