Clayton Henry Duncan
Clayton Henry Duncan, 79, of Farmington, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Ft. Madison Community Hospital.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, at First Baptist Church in Farmington with the Rev. Philip Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery with military rites by the Farmington American Legion. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. A memorial fund has been established for the Farmington Emergency Medical Technicians.
Mr. Duncan was born August 19, 1920, in Henry County, the son of Elbert and Lenora Haynes Duncan. He married Edith Cartnal on August 12, 1942, in Canton, Mo.
He had been a resident of Farmington since 1948 as a carpenter and farmer, and was a World War II army veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Roger Duncan of Altoona; two daughters, Suzanne Smith of Galesburg, Ill., and Jeannie Hetzer of Ft. Madison; two brothers, Ray of Bonaparte and Lawrence of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and Robert.
