Clela Mae Campbell Shook
Clela Mae Campbell Shook, 97, of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, June 17, at Park Place.
A memorial service and interment of the cremains will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established to National T.T.T. or First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Shook was born in Mt. Pleasant on May 8, 1903, the daughter of Milton Ellsworth Campbell and Jessie Courtney Campbell. She married H.L. ?Hemp? Shook on December 24, 1924.
She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in May, 1921, and worked as a legal secretary for the Elgar-Kinney and McAdam-Nelson law offices until her marriage. She also worked at the Henry County Savings Bank for several years. Later she associated with her husband in the Shook Insurance Agency until their son joined the business in June 1951.
Shook was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of Founders Chapter of T.T.T., Entre Nous, and Fortnightly Clubs.
Survivors include her husband; a brother, Virgil Campbell; a son, Allan D. Shook; two granddaughters, Lynn Ellsworth of Mt. Pleasant and Becky Williams of San Antonio; and four great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and two brothers.
