Clement Clarence Chalupa

      RICHLAND-Clement Clarence Chalupa, 97, of Richland, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Church in Richland, with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung officiating. A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, followed by Prayers for a Christian Wake. The family will be present to greet friends until 8:30. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery in Richland. Memorials may be made to the Richland Public Library or Richland Senior Citizen Center. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements.

      Mr. Chalupa was born Dec. 5, 1909, in Kalona to James and Jenny (Prohaska) Chalupa. He married Orina Greiner on Oct. 23, 1941, at SS. Peter and Paul (Holy Trinity) Clear Creek Catholic Church. She preceded him in death in 1987.
