Cleo I. McShane
Cleo I. McShane, 76, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Fairfield, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at the Mapleleaf Healthcare Center in Mt. Pleasant.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2 at Lovilia Cemetery in Lovilia, north of Albia with the Rev. Jeffrey Crawford of Calvary Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A general memorial has been established in the name of Cleo I. McShane.
Mrs. McShane was born April 10, 1924, in Gosport, the daughter of Albert B. and Fannie Benibal Verwer. She married to Homer F. McShane in 1953 at Knoxville, who preceded her in death in 1971. She was a mother and homemaker who enjoyed sewing and working in the garden.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard Harold and Linda McShane of Mt. Pleasant and Jim McShane of Fairfield; two brothers, Herman and Hanna Verwer of Melcher and Elmer and Maxine Verwer of Dallas; three sisters, Maria See of Melcher, Neoma Evans of Knoxville and Cecil Norman of Knoxville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lester, Bill and Cornelius; and two sisters, Wilma and Freda.
