Clifford Gerth April 5, 1910 - July 30, 2003

Clifford Otto Gerth, 93, formerly of Wapello, died Wednesday evening, July 30, 2003, at Morning Sun Care Center in Morning Sun.

      The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2 at the United Methodist Church in Wapello, with the Rev. Harlan W. Winter officiating. Burial with rites by the Odd Fellows Lodge will be in the Wapello Cemetery. Visitation will begin with Masonic rites at 6:30 p.m. today at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello, with family present until 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the United Methodist Church in Wapello.

      Survivors include a daughter, Karen Thornburg of New London; a daughter-in-law; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Lewis Gerth of Bettendorf.

      In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
