Clinton S. 'Trim' Spurgeon

Clinton S. "Trim" Spurgeon, 82, of Burlington, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 2005, at New London Nursing and Rehab Center.

      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with the Rev. David Nash officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with full military rites by veterans honor guard of VFW Posts 9162 and 10102, American Legion Post 52, Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League and AM Vets Post 20. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 at the chapel, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and New London Nursing and Rehab Center.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Jarvis of Davenport, and Beverly Murphy of Burlington; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maxine Moulton of Houston, Mary Woll of Milan, Ill., and Patricia McDanel of Ottumwa; and a brother, Jack Spurgeon of Hillsdale, Ill.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers, two in infancy.
