Cody Luis Casanova was born February 19, 1993, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, the son of Lisa (Flanegan) Johnson and Phillip Johnson. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 2011. Cody worked in the construction industry as a laborer and concrete finisher. He enjoyed podcasts, golfing, gaming, taking road trips, being outdoors, spending time with his cat Duke and pet snakes, and had a strong passion for music, but most of all his family and friends. Cody died on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at his home in Williamsburg, at the age of 31 years.

He is survived by his parents Lisa Johnson and Phillip (Julie) Johnson; two sisters, Whitney Casanova and Alesha Casanova; a brother, Jonathan Flanegan; nieces & nephews Adriana, Tucker, Kimaya, Kamari, Kaliah, Micah, Karsten and Kaleb; a special Uncle, Gordon Troyer; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded by his grandparents; an aunt Deborah Troyer and a nephew Kayden Leach.

A Celebration of Life Service was held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will be in the Piersol Cemetery, rural North English. Visitation was held on Monday, from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the funeral home, to help the family with the funeral costs.
