Colleen Louise Ruggles, 70, of Newton, formerly of rural Fairfield, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at her home. No services are scheduled at this time. Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the cremation.

Colleen was born Oct. 15, 1949, to John Donald and Martha Pearl (Dorothy) Huffman, in Ottumwa. She was united in marriage with Lloyd Owen Ruggles on Nov. 29, 1968, in Kahoka, Mo. They had one son, Bryan (Lisa) Ruggles of Oskaloosa; three daughters, Toni (Michael) Greene of Bernville, Pa., Brenda (Doug) Burden of New London and Elizabeth Murray of Newton; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also is survived by three sisters, Janet Smitz of Omaha, Neb., Sharon Boettcher of Moulton and Virginia Buckler of Newton; and one brother, Donald Huffman of Batavia.

Colleen enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, camping and spending time with her husband and kids. Since the death of her husband, she cherished good times spent with her favorite little sister, Virginia.

Colleen was blessed and thanks the Lord for her four wonderful children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Roger Huffman.
