Connie Kay McCall Dyer passed away Feb. 8, 2021, in her home in Waldorf, Md., after an extended illness.

She was born in Crawfordsville, Iowa, on Sept. 1, 1955, and graduated from WACO High School in 1973. Thereafter, she moved to Wayland, where she raised her children. She worked in Washington County Hospital as an accountant for many years. She later moved to Maryland to marry Rob Dyer. In Maryland, she worked in procurement and accounting in the medical field. Her hobbies were gardening, canning, crocheting, horseback riding and adoring her grandchildren.

She loved returning to the Midwest a couple of times a year to see her grandchildren, whom she cherished, and reconnecting with friends and relatives including Aunt Pearl Weeks of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Lee (Zook) McCall; mother, Viola Green McCall, of Crawfordsville, Iowa; and her fraternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rob Dyer; her children, Melissa Kaufman and partner, Andres Tovar, with twin grandsons, Mateo and Aiden, from Skokie, Ill.; son, Matthew Kaufman and wife Melissa Dale from Cumming, Iowa, with grandchildren, Annabell and Corben; sister, Deborah Gorman of Fort Meyers, Fla.; nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Services were held at the Independent Baptist Church in Clinton, Md., on Feb. 16, 2021. Interment was in Waldorf, Md.
