Connie L. Dickey

OTTUMWA ? Connie Lou Dickey, 72, of Hedrick, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, in Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Ottumwa.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Bill Hornback officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for a bench to be donated in Connie?s and Loren?s names at the Iowa State Fair.

Mrs. Dickey was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Sigourney, the daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Souer) Snakenberg. She married Loren Lee Dickey on Sept. 20, 1958.

Having attended Hedrick High School, she was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. She also worked with Julie McKay, making crafts and candles. She enjoyed attending the Iowa State Fair, could mend anything and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Candice Greiner and husband Leslie of Keota, and Joni Sandburg and husband Robert of Washington; two sons, Scott Dickey and wife Lori of Hedrick, and Dru Dickey and wife Angie of Hedrick; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Lenius of Ottumwa; and numerous nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Feb. 13, 2002; and two brothers, Ronnie Snakenberg, and Dean Gilliland.
