Connie L. Wide, age 59, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and daughters.

Celebration of life services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A general memorial has been established. Connie was born September 1, 1964, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Sharon (Warden) Claypool. She graduated from Mid Prairie High School in 1983. Connie was united in marriage to Tom Wide on October 8, 1988, in Washington, Iowa.

Connie lived all of her adult life in the Washington Community. She worked at Sheller Globe Mfg. in Iowa City and later worked at Modine Mfg. in Washington. Following her early retirement she was happy to take on the role of loving grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, and shopping. Connie loved the Christmas holiday season and enjoyed decorating, cooking and being hostess for her family. She especially enjoyed the companionship of her dog, Bruno.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Wide of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Brittany (Andy) Rogers of Ollie, Iowa; daughter, Jamie Wide of Washington, Iowa; three grandchildren: Weston, Owen and Gracelynn Rogers; stepfather, Gary Watson of Arkansas; as well as many aunts and uncles including a special aunt, Joy Donovan. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Janice Wide of Keota, Iowa; brother-in-law, Jim Wide of Keota, Iowa; and brother-in-law, Dan Wide of Ainsworth, Iowa.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Mike Flynn; and father-in-law, Robert Wide.
