Connie Lamb, 72, of Grinnell, died at home on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

A memorial service was held 10:30 AM Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Smith Funeral Home – Grinnell, with inurnment at Hazelwood Cemetery. A luncheon was held at the Grinnell Elks following the cemetery. The family greeted friends for a visitation held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 17 at Smith Funeral Home – Grinnell.

Connie was born on November 15, 1952, in Grinnell, IA, to Lyle and Mary Ruth (Davis) Routier. She completed her early education in the Grinnell School District and graduated from Montezuma High School in the Class of 1970.

Connie married Tom Stanford, and together they had one daughter, Carla. This union later ended in divorce. On November 19, 1977, she married Darrel Lamb, and they had one son, Kevin Lamb. Connie dedicated her life to her family, working as a devoted caretaker and homemaker. Known for her meticulous attention to detail, she kept an immaculate household, even going as far as to mop the garage floors, a reflection of her commitment to her family's comfort and well-being.

In addition to her household responsibilities, Connie enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She was an avid music lover, enjoyed playing games such as Nertz, Wahoo, and Yahtzee, and kept up with her favorite TV shows, including Survivor and Days of Our Lives. She also enjoyed crafting, completing puzzles, and spending time with her daily devotions. Most of all, Connie cherished her family, loving them unconditionally.

Connie is survived by her children, Carla (Ed) Harvey of Fairfield, IA, and Kevin (Sara) Lamb of New Sharon, IA; her grandchildren, Bryce (Katelyn) Doane of Sully, IA, Braden (Katlyn) Lamb of New Sharon, IA, Elizabeth Doane (Deklan Lewis) of Baxter, IA, Garrett Lamb of Iowa City, IA, and Cameron Harvey of Cooke City, MT; her great-granddaughters, Brinley and Kinsley Doane, and Aubrey Myers and Everleigh Lamb; her siblings, Marj Smith of Grinnell, IA, Joyce Hill of Lancaster, OH, Cindy Weldon of Belle Plaine, IA, and Roger (June) Routier of Gilman, IA; and her sister-in-law, Irma Dye.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Darrel Lamb, who passed away on January 27, 2025; her brother, Larry Dye; her sister, Linda Routier in infancy; and her brothers-in-law, Art Smith and Jim Weldon.
